What are the four principles of energy?

As it turns out, the principles of energy play a huge role in our yoga practice! In yoga, we work to cultivate, conserve, and transform our own internal energy, known as prana. By understanding these four principles of energy, we can deepen our yoga practice and experience greater benefits on and off the mat.

Conservation of Energy in Yoga Practice: Just like in the physical world, in yoga, we aim to conserve our internal energy. This means that we aim to use it wisely and avoid wasting it on negative thoughts or actions. Instead, we focus on directing our energy inward, conserving it for times when we need it the most.

The Law of Energy Transformation in Yoga Practice: In yoga, we work to transform our internal energy from lower to higher forms. This is done through a variety of techniques such as pranayama (breathing exercises), asanas (yoga postures), and meditation. By transforming our internal energy, we increase our overall vitality and well-being.

Energy Flow in Yoga Practice: In yoga, we aim to create a balanced flow of internal energy throughout our entire being. This is achieved through a combination of asanas, pranayama, and meditation, which help to unblock any stagnant energy and promote the smooth flow of prana.
