My name is Mellysa Colman, and I come from a small community in Southern California called the Antelope Valley. Growing up, my parents instilled a love for animals in me by keeping a variety of them on our property, including pigs, sheep, chickens, cows, horses, and even peacocks. I spent my childhood caring for these animals, feeding and cleaning them, and even helping them give birth. However, as I got older, I struggled with the idea of slaughtering these animals for food, and eventually made the decision to become a vegetarian.
After moving out of my parents’ home at eighteen, I found a job as a veterinary technician at a local hospital. I quickly fell in love with the field and worked hard to learn as much as I could, eventually moving on to work at a large specialty hospital in Los Angeles. But after a few years, I was ready for a change, and decided to move to Las Vegas to try something new.
It was there that I met the love of my life, and we decided to sell our house and travel around the USA for three months to find our perfect home. We eventually settled in Upstate New York, and got married in a beautiful ceremony in Hawaii last summer. We also took the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica for our honeymoon, where we became certified as yoga teachers.
Now, I am excited to share my stories and experiences with others, and to teach them how yoga and energy healing have helped me on my journey. I hope to inspire and empower others to take control of their own lives and well-being, just as I have done.
